Advancing DECO2: Cocircular Shares Insights with the Interreg Europe DECO Network

As part of our ongoing collaboration and knowledge-exchange activities, the DeCO2 project recently facilitated a working session between Cocircular and the Interreg Europe project DECO (Digital Entrepreneurship for Circular Opportunities). Organized by Camara de Comercio de Valencia, the purpose of the meeting was to introduce DECO partners to a practical, market-validated example of digital innovation for circularity in the construction sector.

CoCircular, DeCO2 partner, presented its business case, demonstrating how the organisation has developed a digital platform that transforms waste management into a strategic lever for operational efficiency, transparency, and emissions reduction. Their presentation highlighted the evolution of their technology, lessons learned from real-world implementation, and the measurable environmental impact achieved through improved traceability, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

During the session, CoCircular also shared updates on DeCO2, outlining how our consortium is working to enhance digitisation and data interoperability in waste management across Europe. The discussion created a valuable space to compare policy contexts, technical approaches, and emerging opportunities for cross-regional collaboration.

For DeCO2, bringing concrete and scalable examples such as CoCircular’s work is essential to ensuring that our outputs respond to real market needs and support the broader transition toward circular economy models.
