DeCO2 Showcases Digital Product Passport Innovation at the DPP Festival 2026
On 24 September 2026, the DPP Festival took place in Hilversum, bringing together professionals from across the value chain to exchange knowledge, experiences and ambitions related to Digital Product Passports (DPPs), which are expected to become a key element of the European regulatory framework for sustainable products.
The programme combined inspiring keynote speeches, frontrunner cases from organisations such as HEMA, Bol and Decathlon, and interactive breakout sessions. Throughout the day, one message emerged clearly: the successful implementation of Digital Product Passports depends on close collaboration among all stakeholders. At the same time, discussions highlighted that DPPs are rapidly evolving beyond regulatory compliance and are becoming drivers of practical implementation, innovation and business value.
As a partner of the DeCO2 project, WSolve participated in the festival organised by TNO, the Centre of Excellence for Data Sharing & Cloud, and https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.linkedin.com/company/gs1/__;!!Nyu6ZXf5!qT7cSfHDDkRd6Ag_bYS_sR5Esu4Q48z6bAFh-5GtNs8Q31ln5puYX_VQA6g8eaOFOLWJLYrrLWLAFNYwhFIL$. WSolve was also invited to support the event as a sponsor and had the opportunity to present its approach to material traceability, transparency, and its commercialisation-ready Digital Product Passport platform.
During the event, WSolve showcased experience gained through collaborations with organisations including the Luxembourg Red Cross, TNC, Wolf Trading and GIZ, while also promoting the work carried out within the DeCO2 Horizon Europe project. Through project materials and dissemination activities, stakeholders were introduced to DeCO2's progress in developing innovative approaches that support circularity and decarbonisation in the built environment.
Compared with previous editions, there was a noticeable shift in the audience profile. Alongside academics and implementation experts, a growing number of commercial companies and organisations attended the festival seeking practical DPP solutions and potential collaboration partners. This reflects the increasing market interest in Digital Product Passports and their potential to create value across supply chains.
WSolve's proposition attracted significant interest, combining technological expertise with more than 30 years of experience in sustainability and the circular economy. This combination was recognised as a strong asset for organisations looking to translate Digital Product Passport ambitions into concrete business applications and collaborative initiatives.
For DeCO2, participation in events such as the DPP Festival is particularly valuable, as Digital Product Passports and material traceability solutions play an increasingly important role in enabling circular renovation strategies, supporting data-driven decision-making, and accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable and low-carbon built environment.
